Wirtgen WR2400 Recycler Commissioning – Hall Brothers
During the week of Feb 21-25 Vietserve commissioned the new Hall Brothers WR2400 Recycler/Soil Stabiliser in HCMC. This unit uses emulsion to bind the recycled materials. A specialist German engineer was present during this week training both local staff and operators from USA.
Hall Brothers are a successful US-based road contractor who have a busy recycling division in USA and are expanding their business to Vietnam. Their decision to invest in Wirtgen product confirms the leading edge technology of Wirtgen products together with the professional parts and service support offered by Vietserve.

Recycling technology is new to Vietnam but it will be a very successful solution for road maintenance where problems with both base and surface exist. The recycler mills both asphalt and sub-base to depths of 30cm, mixes with binding agents in its mix chamber (foamed bitumen or emulsion) and lays the finished base back down in a single pass. Speeds of up to 6m/min and a working width of 2.4m means fast renovation of roads. Hardening of the base takes from 2 hours allowing traffic to flow immediately, prior to laying the final asphalt layer.
Owners-Contractors will save up to 50% on materials as they are able to re-use existing road aggregates and asphalt, which makes recycling an exciting business for the future. Project investors will also be excited by this technology as their costs of investment are sharply reduced.
